Mark Stotesbery

DOD Unknown

“Stotes” was one of a kind, and led others on a number of “adventures”, before leaving us too soon in the summer of 84’. So many stories. On one such adventure in 1980, Mark flew to London to visit when I was student teaching in Aberdeen, Scotland. We met in Edinborough, each of us bringing friends along, and had a memorable weekend together! I had reconnected with Mark on a Thursday evening the summer of 84 and we made plans to get together the following Monday. He’d been bounced back and forth between MSP and Atlanta in his job with Eastern Airlines, as the company contracted, so we hadn’t see each other in a while. I got a call 36 hours later telling me he had passed away - a moment of utter disbelief, and grief. (A viral infection of the heart took him in a matter of hours.). This happened just a few weeks before our 10th reunion. He was a good friend, to both me and my sister, Mary (class of 77?, now deceased), and we missed him dearly. I still do.
